Steven Luper, Esq. attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia from 1987 to 1989 and received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1991. He received his Juris Doctor from University of Miami, School of Law in 1994. During law school he received the Dean’s Honor Scholarship, was an active participant in the Litigation Skills Trial Advocacy Program, Dade County Guardian Ad Litem, Florida Justice Institute and Dade County Bar Association. In 1995, he was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Ronald Alvarez in the West Palm Beach Civil Circuit Court for the State of Florida.

Mr. Luper moved back to Atlanta, Georgia in 1995 and worked with collection law firms in the metro Atlanta area, handling heavy caseloads including commercial, consumer, and insurance subrogation accounts throughout the state. Mr. Luper started his own practice handling civil litigation, business litigation, commercial collections and corporate transactions, from 1997 to 2018. Mr. Luper is a member of the Commercial Law League of America (1999), the American Lawyers Quarterly (1999), and the General Bar Directory (2000).

Mr. Luper is an active member in good standing of the Florida Bar (1994), Georgia Bar (1996), United States Northern District Court (2003), Georgia Court of Appeals (2015) and Georgia Supreme Court (2015).

  • Owned and operated a high volume commercial collections practice, including insurance subrogation and business litigation matters. Provided legal services representing creditors’ rights including collection/litigation strategy, located and contacted debtors, maintained client and forwarder updates, negotiated settlement, filed suit, conducted litigation, handled bench and jury trials, secured judgments, post-judgment discovery, bank and wage garnishments, and levies on property.
  • Secured bench trial and jury trial verdicts upheld on appeal to Supreme Court of Georgia, in which co-signor to contract held jointly and severally liable pursuant to one signature line without separate personal guaranty.
  • Provided business related services to assist corporate clientele including conducting private stock placement, incorporations, drafting commercial transaction documents and contracts, negotiating partnership buyout, as well as corporate litigation.
